As the starter let them away, I’ve Gotta Nel bounced out of the gate and quickly too up the running in the field of eight runners.
Rated well in front by jockey Boris Thornton, I’ve Gotta Nel travelled well on the Heavy rated Track, and with 400m to run, Thornton picked up the speed.
With a length advantage over his rivals as the field straightened for the run home, I’ve Gotta Nel kept finding under Thornton’s urging and held off a late challenge by favourite Ramtastic, to score a tough win.
The win took I’ve Gotta Nel’s total prizemoney, past the $250k mark
